DENVER, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Ben Guite scored the last of Colorado's three second-period goals Thursday as the Avalanche rallied for a 3-2 victory over Pittsburgh.
Colorado has won its first six home games this season, equaling a franchise record set 13 years ago when the team was still in Quebec.
After Colorado overcame a 2-0 deficit, Jose Theodore was perfect and finished with 26 saves.
Colorado's three goals came in a span of 2:30 midway through the second. John-Michael Liles began the comeback on the power play with a tip-in and Wojtek Wolski tied it with a wrister that beat Dany Sabourin.
Guite's goal came on a wrap-around that caught the Penguins in the midst of a line change.
Sidney Crosby scored Pittsburgh's two goals. The Penguins have lost three out of four.
