Andy Reid has no plans to resign

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Philadelphia Eagles Coach Andy Reid said Friday he has no plans to step down despite his family turmoil.

New charges were filed Friday against Garrett Reid after drugs were found in his jail cell.

"I know this is a big story for everybody and I respect that," Andy Reid told reporters Friday before practice. "On the other hand, I can't go into questioning about it at this time. As parents we have a huge concern for our boys and this is been a battle that (he and his wife, Tammy) have dealt with here for a few years."

Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor said jail guards were tipped off by Garrett Reid's cellmate, WCAU-TV reported. Garrett had smuggled the pills into jail, saying he did not want to be there without the.

The Eagles face Dallas Monday night.
