NHL: N.Y. Islanders 4, Tampa Bay 0

UNIONDALE, N.Y., Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Rick DiPietro recorded his first shutout this season Thursday as the New York Islanders whipped Tampa Bay 4-0.

The shutout was the 12th of his seven-year career.

New York got goals from Bill Guerin at 13:29 of the first, Josef Vasicek at 12:19 of the second, Ruslan Fedotenko at 19:12 of the second and Trent Hunter at 6:00 of the third. Mike Comrie had two assists.

Lundqvist stopped all 28 Tampa Bay shots as the Islanders rose to 2-1 on their six-game homestand.

Goalie Marc Denis was beaten four times on 32 shots for the Lightning, who suffered their fourth straight loss.

They have lost seven of nine since beginning the season with a three-game winning streak.

On the power play, Tampa Bay was 0-for-3 and New York was 0-for-4.
