DENVER, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Wide receiver Rod Smith and defensive end Jarvis Moss of Denver will miss the remainder of the 2007 season with assorted injuries.
Broncos Coach Mike Shanahan made the announcement about both players after Thursday's practice.
"I don’t know if it's bad karma coming around to everybody or what," safety Nick Ferguson told the Rocky Mountain News. "But it's sad that this is happening."
Denver is just 3-4 this season after last Monday night's 19-13 overtime loss to Green Bay.
Shanahan said Smith, who returned to practice last week for the first time since having off-season hip surgery, is not recovering fast enough to be activated this season.
Moss broke his leg and tore ligaments in his right ankle in practice.
A number of players are injured, including strong safety John Lynch (neck), and wide receiver Javon Walker (knee).
Already on injured reserve are defensive end Ebenezer Ekuban (Achilles), linebacker Warrick Holdman (spinal cord), and tight end Stephen Alexander (calf).
