Report: Pavlovic in the fold for Cavaliers

CLEVELAND, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Guard Sasha Pavlovic Wednesday agreed to a multiyear contract to remain with the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers.

Citing sources, The Akron Beacon-Journal reported the 6-foot-7 inch native of Serbia will receive between $4 million and $5 million annually over three years.

He ended a lengthy holdout on the day the Cavaliers play their season-opener against Dallas.

"It was a long negotiating process, but I think it worked out well in the end," Pavlovic's agent, Marc Cornstein, told the newspaper. "Sasha has always embraced Cleveland, and that’s where he wanted to be."

Pavlovic, who also can play small forward, was home in his native country when the deal was done.

He is expected back in Cleveland Wednesday night, but likely will not play against the Mavericks.

He averaged nine points and just under three rebounds in 67 games last season while developing into one of the team's most consistent defenders.
