TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Brad Richards scored twice and added an assist Thursday night, as the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Philadelphia Flyers, 5-2.
Richards scored his fourth goal of the new season midway through the first period and his fifth -- unassisted -- into an empty net at 18:49 of the third.
Jason Ward, Michel Ouellet (unassisted) and Vaclav Prospal all scored once.
Jan Hlavac had three assists, while goaltender Johan Holmqvist stopped 21-of-23 Philadelphia shots, as the Lightning won for the second time in three games.
Philadelphia's goals were scored by Jeff Carter at 11:18 of the first and Mike Knuble at 3:46 of the third.
Goalie Antero Niittymaki was beaten four times on 25 shots for the Flyers, who have lost two in a row.
On the power play, the Flyers went scoreless in five chances, and Tampa Bay was 2-for-4.
