NHL: Calgary 5, Minnesota 3

CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Adrian Aucoin scored the go-ahead goal 3:46 into the third period Wednesday as Calgary rallied to hand Minnesota its first loss of the season, 5-3.

Minnesota took a 3-0 lead in the game's opening 9:41 on goals by Brian Rolston, Mark Parrish and Wes Walz.

But the Flames tied it with three goals in a span of five minutes during the latter stages of the second period.

Aucoin then put a slap shot past Niklas Backstrom to put Calgary in front and Robyn Regehr added some insurance at 8:03 of the third.

After struggling early, Mikka Kiprusoff got the win by making 16 saves. Two of the goals he allowed came on the power play.

Minnesota had been the only team left in the NHL this season without a loss in regulation time.
