PITTSBURGH, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh rallied from a two-goal deficit Friday night and Sidney Crosby scored the deciding goal in a shootout, as the Penguins beat Carolina, 4-3.
The Hurricanes built a 3-1 lead in the second period before Adam Hall scored with 2:06 to play in the stanza. Petr Sykora came through on the power play with just six seconds left in the second, and neither team could score in either the third period or the five-minute overtime.
Carolina had a three-game winning streak halted.
The Hurricanes' Scott Walker fell to the ice during the second period after a violent collision with Jarkko Ruutu. Walker stayed down for several minutes and a stretcher was brought onto the ice, but he eventually was able to skate off with the help of a trainer.
