BUFFALO, N.Y., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Pascal Leclaire recorded his third shutout in just four games Friday night, as the Columbus Blue Jackets blanked Buffalo, 3-0.
Leclaire made 21 saves, while Rick Nash had his second straight two-point night with a goal and an assist. Michael Peca and Nikolai Zherdev both scored for the first time this season, helping Columbus end a two-game losing streak.
Buffalo had won its previous three games.
Peca scored the game's first goal at 6:31 of the second period, putting in a rebound off a shot from Nash.
Nash was awarded a penalty shot later in the period, only to be blocked by Ryan Miller. Nash came back 62 seconds later to score on the power play.
Zherdev's goal went into an empty net.
The win was the Blue Jackets' first on the road this season.
