Foot injury sidelines Tomas Vokoun

SUNRISE, Fla., Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Florida Panthers' goaltender Tomas Vokoun has been sidelined by a left foot injury that will cause him to miss at least one game.

In a report in Thursday's Miami Herald, the team noted Vokoun was hurt in the third period of Tuesday's game against Montreal when Panthers' defenseman Mike Van Ryn slid into him while trying to make a play. Vokoun sat out Wednesday's practice.

"Tomas has been really steady the last three games after maybe a shaky start," General Manager and Coach Jacques Martin said on the Panthers' Web site.

This season Vokoun has won three of five starts and has a .912 save percentage.
