Canizares, last season’s victor at the Russian Open, finished 13-under 275 after a 4-under 68. He bogeyed the 17th hole to fall three back, and never recovered.

Overnight leader Daniel Vancsik (73) fell out of contention after a quintuple-bogey nine at the fifth, and finished third at 12-under 276.

Former amateur star Rory McIlroy (70) and Gregory Bourdy (69) shared fourth place at 11-under 277.
