GLENDALE, Ariz., Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Eric Belanger scored a shorthanded goal with 3:15 left to play to cap a Minnesota comeback Saturday night, as the Wild beat Phoenix, 3-2.

Marian Gaborik and Mikko Koivu scored for Minnesota, and Pavol Demitra had two assists. Niklas Backstrom had 27 saves for Minnesota.

Daniel Carcillo scored both Coyotes’ goals and Alexander Auld made 23 saves, as the Coyotes lost for the third time in their last four games.

Koivu tied the game at 2-2 with 6:20 left in the third period. Phoenix had the man advantage when Belanger picked up the rebound after a Stephane Veilleux shot and flipped it into the net.
