NHL: Vancouver 5, Edmonton 2

EDMONTON, Alberta, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- A goal and an assist each from Rick Rypien, Alex Burrows and Brendan Morrison Friday night lifted the Vancouver Canucks to a 5-2 win over Edmonton.

The Canucks downed the Oilers for the sixth straight time, also getting goals from Markus Naslund and Henrik Sedin. Vancouver bounced back from an 8-2 setback to Philadelphia Wednesday night.

Edmonton used two goaltenders and neither had much success. After Mathieu Garon allowed three goals on 11 shots in the first period, Dwayne Roloson gave up two scores on eight shots -- including a soft goal that went between his pads.

The teams meet again Saturday night in Vancouver.
