NHL: Florida 6, Tampa Bay 4

SUNRISE, Fla., Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Jozef Stumpel's power-play goal was the eventual game-winner Saturday night, as the Florida Panthers beat the Tampa Bay Lightning, 6-4.

The tally came at 1:26 of the third period and gave Florida a 5-1 advantage, which later dwindled as Tampa Bay scored three times in about four minutes to pull within 5-4.

Florida also got a goal and two assists from Olli Jokinen, a goal and one assist from both Stephen Weiss and Ruslan Salei, and two assists from Cory Murphy.

Goalie Tomas Vokoun made 40 saves on 44 shots for the Panthers, who have won two in a row.

Tampa Bay's Vaclav Prospal scored twice in the third. Andre Roy and Jan Hlavac scored once each.

Brad Richards and Vincent Lecavalier both had two assists, while goalies Johan Holmqvist and Marc Denis combined to yield six goals on 28 shots for the Lightning, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
