COL FB: Iowa 10, Illinois 6

IOWA CITY, Iowa, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Jake Christensen threw a 20-yard score to Brandon Myers and Brett Greenwood intercepted in the end zone late, as Iowa upset 19-ranked Illinois 10-6 Saturday.

The Fighting Illini (5-2, 3-1 Big Ten) have not beaten Iowa (3-4, 1-3 Big Ten) in seven years. The Hawkeyes snapped a four-game losing streak with the victory, while Illinois' loss followed wins against ranked teams the previous two weeks.

Christensen connected on 17 of 25 passes for 182 yards for the afternoon. Myers caught three of them for 38 yards, including the TD, while wide receiver Paul Chaney Jr. grabbed three more for 47 yards.

Albert Young ran for 99 yards on 25 carries, and Damian Sims chipped in with 45 yards on the ground.

Illinois quarterback Isiah "Juice" Williams threw for 98 yards on 9-of-15 passing and ran for 41 yards on 10 carries. Rashard Mendenhall finished the game with 67 yards on the ground and Arrelious Benn caught four passes for 87 yards.
