Craig Rivet had two assists and Evgeni Nabokov made 16 saves in boosting the Sharks to their second win in three games.

The Chicago goal came from Jonathan Toews, the first of his NHL career. Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 30 shots for Chicago, which has lost two of its first three games this year.

Toews was playing for the first time this season after missing the first two games with a broken finger. He gave Chicago the lead with 6:13 left in the first period.

Michalek tied it on the power play at 10:28 in the second, getting off a wrist shot on which Khabibulin was screened.
