NFL: Baltimore 9, San Francisco 7

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Matt Stover booted three field goals Sunday as Baltimore beat the San Francisco 49ers, 9-7.

He kicked 26-yard and 32-yard field goals in the second quarter as Baltimore took a 6-0 halftime lead in the defensive tussle, and added a 49-yarder with 8:12 left in the third.

Baltimore running back Willis McGahee rushed for 88 yards on 22 attempts, and caught seven passes for 48 yards.

Baltimore also got 29-for-43 passing for 214 yards from Steve McNair, and 11 catches for 85 yards from Derrick Mason as it avoided a second straight loss.

San Francisco's Trent Dilfer, who led the Ravens to a Super Bowl title in 2000, completed just 12 of 19 passes for 126 yards with one touchdown, one interception, and three sacks.

Running back Frank Gore ran for 52 yards on 16 attempts, and Arnaz Battle scored once on three receptions for 36 yards.
