Travis Henry fails another NFL drug test

DENVER, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Denver Broncos running back Travis Henry faces a one-year suspension from the NFL after recently testing positive for marijuana use.

Henry, the league's leading rusher after the first four weeks, would be a repeat offender of the league's substance abuse policy after his four-game suspension in 2005 for a similar infraction, ESPN.com reported.

He has scored once on 86 carries for 433 yards after signing a five-year, $22.5 million deal last off-season.

"I talked to him about that," Coach Mike Shanahan told the Rocky Mountain News in March when Henry was warned about another suspension for substance abuse.

"He knows if he screws up, he's gone. For him to take a chance to do anything would be completely stupid."

The newspaper added Henry's $12 million signing bonus includes a clause that forces him to repay the bonus if he is suspended for drug use.

The bonus payments have been spread out over five months, and Henry was scheduled to get $1 million next month.
