TOKYO, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Seventh-seeded crowd favorite Aiko Nakamura was bounced from the $175,000 Japan Open Monday in the tournament's first day action.
Nakamura, who was the Japan Open runner-up in 2006, was ousted in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, by Klara Zakopalova.

No. 2-seeded Sania Mirza played to form and swept by Ayumi Morita, 6-0, 6-4, in her first-round match.
In other first-round matches Monday, Carolina Wozniacki dispatched Catalina Castano, 6-2, 6-1; Urszula Radwanska defeated Sophie Ferguson, 6-1, 6-2; and Casey Dellacqua beat Severine Bremond, 6-4, 6-0.
Venus Williams, who won the Korea Open title match on Sunday, is seeded first in the Japan Open.
The 2007 Japan Open champion will take home check for $25,840.
