BOSTON, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- J.D. Drew hit a tie-breaking three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh Saturday as the Boston Red Sox rallied to beat Minnesota, 6-4.
When Drew belted his 11th homer of the season, the score was tied, 3-3, on Mike Lowell’s RBI single earlier in the inning.
Kevin Youkilis also had three hits, while Lowell and Coco Crisp had two hits each for the AL East champion Red Sox -- who earned home-field advantage for the entire post-season.
The winner was starter Tim Wakefield (17-12).
Hideki Okajima recorded his fifth save.
Minnesota got two hits, one a solo homer in the fourth, and three RBI from Joe Mauer.
Rondell White hit a solo homer in the third, and Brian Buscher had one RBI for the Twins, who have lost six of 10.
The losing pitcher was reliever Nick Blackburn (0-2).
