MIAMI, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Green Bay Packers cornerback Al Harris is being sued for an alleged sexual assault in 2005.
The victim, a former exotic dancer at a Pompano Beach, Fla., strip club, claimed Harris sexually assaulted her in a private room at the club.
Harris' agent told the Miami Herald the lawsuit is an attempt at extortion.
The lawsuit, filed Monday in Broward County, Fla., said surveillance cameras at the Champagne Room, weren't functioning when the alleged incident happened.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of a 30-year-old woman reportedly from Brazil.
"Here is a young woman who has been harmed by what has happened," Boca Raton, Fla., lawyer Joseph Nusbaum, the woman's attorney, told the newspaper. "Nothing can compensate for what she’s been through."
The report said the woman told investigators she was entertaining Harris and a group of men in the club, performed a sexual act on Harris after which he sexually assaulted her.
