MLB: Toronto 8, Baltimore 5

BALTIMORE, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Adam Lind and Matt Stairs both drove in two runs during an eight-run first Wednesday, boosting Toronto past Baltimore 8-5.

Victor Zambrano (0-3) retired only two batters and gave up all eight runs as the Orioles lost for the seventh time in 10 games.

Roy Halladay (16-7) benefited from the early onslaught to get the win, allowing five runs in a seven-inning effort. Toronto won its third straight.

The first three batters reached for the Blue Jays in the first and Frank Thomas drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Aaron Hill singled to again load the bases and Gregg Zaun forced in a run by drawing a walk.

Lind singled in two more and Reed Johnson reached on an infield single to bring in Zaun.

Kurt Birkins relieved Zambrano, but gave up a single to Stairs that delivered two runs. Alex Rios finished things off with an RBI single.
