Carmona won his fifth straight start.

Cleveland began the night a half game in front of Boston in the fight for the best record in the American League.

The loss went to Ryan Ryan Feierabend (1-6), who surrendered eight hits and six runs in 2 2/3 innings.

This was the last of the four games that had to be made up as a result of a four-game series being snowed out in April. Cleveland batted second and was listed as the home team.
