NFL: Green Bay 31, San Diego 24

GREEN BAY, Wis., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Brett Favre tied the NFL record for touchdown passes Sunday in a 369-yard performance that helped lead Green Bay past the stumbling San Diego Chargers 31-24.

Favre completed 28-of-45 passes for three touchdowns, tying Dan Marino’s record of 420 career TD passes, as the Packers (3-0) remained undefeated and sent San Diego (1-2) to its second consecutive loss -- equaling the number of regular-season games the Chargers lost all last season.

Bubba Franks and Donald Driver caught TD passes from Favre in the second quarter.

San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers was 27-of-36 for 306 yards and three touchdowns, but LaDainian Tomlinson was held to 62 yards on 22 carries.
