ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- John Lackey struck out seven in seven innings Sunday, as the Los Angeles Angels beat Seattle, 7-4, and clinched the American League West title.
The Angels captured the division crown for the third time in four years and tied a club record for home victories, with 54.

Lackey (18-9) yielded two runs on seven hits without a walk.
Francisco Rodriguez pitched a perfect ninth for his 38th save of the season.
Casey Kotchman and Maicer Izturis homered for the Angels.
Jeff Weaver (7-13) gave up five runs on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings for Seattle.
Raul Ibanez had two hits and scored two runs for the Mariners.
