Colorado's Franklin Morales teamed with two relievers on a shutout through eight innings, but San Diego tied it in the ninth on the 27th home run of the year by Adrian Gonzalez.

Hawpe drove in Colorado's first run in the seventh with a single and then was thrown out at home to end the 12th. But he came through two innings later with a shot to center on the first pitch he saw from Joe Thatcher (0-1).

The win went to Matt Herges (5-1), who worked the final two innings.
