SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Jorge Cantu drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the 11th inning Friday night as Cincinnati outlasted San Francisco, 9-8.

The Reds overcame a five-run deficit to hand the Giants their fourth straight loss.

Earlier, the Giants announced they would not retain career home run record holder Barry Bonds for the 2008 season and Bonds did not play in Friday night's game.

Cincinnati produced five runs in the eighth to tie the game and then won it in the 11th thanks to aggressive base running by Brandon Phillips.

Phillips opened the 11th with a single off Scott Munter (1-1). Aaron Harang then put down a sacrifice bunt, on which Phillips raced all the way to third. He scored from there on Cantu's fly ball to center.

That made a winner out of Marcus McBeth (3-2), who turned in two innings of relief. David Weathers worked the bottom of the 11th for his 32nd save.
