CHICAGO, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Aramis Ramirez hit two three-run homers Friday afternoon as the Chicago Cubs beat Pittsburgh, 13-8.
Ramirez and Alfonso Soriano hit solo and three-run homers, respectively, as the Cubs built a 4-1 lead after an inning, but Pittsburgh scored five in the third to go ahead, 7-5.
Chicago tied it, 7-7, before Ramirez hit his second three-run homer as part of a five-run sixth.
Chicago’s Geovany Soto had two hits, one a two-run homer in the sixth.
Derek Lee had three hits, two others had one RBI, one run scored on an error, one scored on a wild pitch, and four players had two hits as the Cubs won for the fourth time in their last five games.
The winner was Scott Eyre (2-1).
Pittsburgh got three RBI from Xavier Nady, one on a solo homer in the ninth, and one RBI from five players.
Three players had two hits for the Pirates, who have lost seven straight.
The loser was Franquelis Osoria (0-2).
