Hantuchova rolls into Sunfeast quarters

KOLKATA, India, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Daniela Hantuchova collected a straight-set victory Thursday in second-round play at the $175,000 Sunfeast Open tennis tournament in India.

Hantuchova, seeded second, rolled over Anastassia Rodionova, 6-2, 6-1, and qualified for the tournament quarterfinals. She is to play eighth-seeded Yung-Jan Chan on Friday.

Eighth-seeded Flavia Pennetta also won her second-round match in straight sets Thursday, dispatching Akgul Amanmuradova, 6-1, 6-3. Pennetta drew fourth-seeded Maria Kirilenko for her quarterfinal match.

Also Thursday, Mariya Koryttseva defeated Vania King, 6-1, 6-2; Tatiana Poutchek topped Sofia Arvidsson, 6-3, 6-1 and Anne Keothavong stopped Sunitha Rao, 6-3, 6-2.

Koryttseva is to meet Poutchek and Keothavong is to go against Tzipora Obziler in the quarterfinals.

The Sunfeast Open finals are scheduled for Sunday. The tournament champion will earn $25,855.
