WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Robert Fick’s pinch-hit three-run homer in the third inning Saturday night led the Washington Nationals to a 7-4 win over Atlanta.

D'Angelo Jimenez had three hits -- including a two-run homer -- and scored twice, while Austin Kearns and Ronnie Belliard each had an RBI for the Nationals, who won for the first time in four games.

Jason Bergmann (5-5) allowed four runs on eight hits in 6 2/3 innings to pick up the victory.

Chad Cordero earned his 34th save of the season.

Chipper Jones had a three-run homer and Corky Miller had a solo shot for the Braves, who lost for the fourth time in their last six games -- and trail San Diego by 5 1/2 games in the NL wild-card chase.

Lance Cormier (2-6) took the loss, allowing five runs on three hits, with four walks in two-plus innings.
