MLB: Cincinnati 6, Milwaukee 5

MILWAUKEE, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Brandon Phillips had two hits and knocked in three runs Friday night, to help the Cincinnati Reds edge Milwaukee, 6-5.

Adam Dunn had two hits -- including a two-run homer -- and scored two runs, and Norris Hopper had three hits and scored twice for the Reds -- who have won four straight and six of their last eight.

Cincinnati starter Tom Shearn (3-0) gave up three runs on four hits in 6 2/3 innings.

Bill Bray gave up a two-out, two-run homer to Mike Rivera in the ninth, but Kevin Mench fouled out to end the game and Bray picked up his first save of the season.

Ben Sheets (12-5) lasted just three innings, giving up five runs on six hits for the Brewers -- who have lost two straight and three of their last four to trail the Chicago Cubs by 1 1/2 games in the NL Central.
