LONDON, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- A 43-year-old man admitted Wednesday in a London court that he punched Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
During a hearing in City of London Magistrates Court, Kevin Reynolds admitted hitting the soccer manager in the groin outside of a London train station Monday, The Daily Mail reported. He also said that after assaulting Ferguson, he began chanting the common Scottish soccer slogan, "Fergie, Fergie, shut your mouth."
In addition, Reynolds confessed to head-butting a police community support officer who attempted to restrain him.
The 43-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts related to taunting the officer with racial slurs. Reynolds, who also pleaded guilty to two other related charges, admitted to being heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident.
The British newspaper said while Ferguson reportedly was sore following the attack, he did not seek any medical treatment.
