MLB: Milwaukee 6, Pittsburgh 1

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Yovani Gallardo (8-4) pitched six scoreless innings Tuesday as the Milwaukee Brewers posted a 6-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Prince Fielder and Corey Hart both homered for the Brewers, who are a half-game ahead of the Chicago Cubs for the lead in the National League Central. Rickie Weeks went 3-for-4 and scored twice in the win.

Adam LaRoche went 2-for-4 for the Pirates. Bryan Bullington (0-2) allowed three runs on seven hits over five-plus innings.
