MLB: Milwaukee 4, Cincinnati 3

CINCINNATI, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Rickie Weeks hit a tie-breaking RBI triple in the top of the ninth inning Saturday night, as the Milwaukee Brewers edged the Cincinnati Reds, 4-3.

Weeks’ 23rd RBI of the season broke a 3-3 tie and helped bring Milwaukee all the way back from a 3-0 second-inning deficit.

Prince Fielder hit his 43rd home run of the season, a solo shot in the sixth, and Gabe Gross and Geoff Jenkins each drove in a run for Milwaukee. Weeks had three hits, while Fielder and Craig Counsell had two each, as the Brewers got the third win in their last four games.

The winning pitcher was Derrick Turnbow (4-4).

Closer Francisco Cordero recorded his 41st save.

Cincinnati scored all its runs on Joey Votto’s three-run homer in the second, his only hit, and his second homer of the season. Edwin Encarnacion had two of the four hits for the Reds, who have split their last four games.

The losing pitcher was closer David Weathers (2-5).
