Fellow wide-out Adron Tennell scored on his only reception, good for 61 yards in the fourth quarter, and cornerback Reggie Smith raced 61 yards for a touchdown on a second-quarter fumble recovery.

The Sooners’ defense limited Miami to 139 total yards, just one first down and 43 yards in the second half. Miami quarterback Kyle Wright threw for one score on 7-of-14 passing for just 65 yards.

Oklahoma and Miami met three times from 1985-87 when both programs were among the best in the nation. The Hurricanes won all three games.
