WASHINGTON, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Wily Mo Pena hit a two-run home run Monday as the Washington Nationals beat the Florida Marlins, 6-3.
Brian Schneider had a two-run double and Austin Kearns had three hits, an RBI and two runs scored for the Nationals, who have won three straight. Ryan Zimmerman had a run-scoring double for Washington.
Jason Bergmann (3-5) got the win as he gave up just one run on four hits while striking out nine in seven innings. Chad Cordero earned his 30th save with a scoreless ninth.
Mike Jacobs hit a solo home run and Hanley Ramirez and Cody Ross each had a pair of doubles for Florida.
Losing pitcher Rick VandenHurk (4-5) allowed six runs on eight hits with six strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
