TORONTO, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Gregg Zaun hit a two-run homer Sunday, powering the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-4 victory over Seattle -- the Mariners' ninth straight loss.
Zaun’s eighth homer this season capped a three-run second inning. Zaun had three hits, and three others had two for the Blue Jays, who swept the three-game series.
Toronto's Matt Stairs also belted a two-run homer in the third, one of his two hits. Aaron Hill had three hits and two RBI.
The winner was starter A.J. Burnett (8-7), while Casey Janssen earned his fifth save.
The losing pitcher was Jeff Weaver (6-11).
The Mariners haven’t won since Aug. 24, a 4-2 victory at Texas.
