MLB: Florida 7, Philadelphia 6

MIAMI, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Cody Ross had two homers and three RBI Sunday afternoon as the Florida Marlins beat Philadelphia, 7-6.

Ross' ninth homer of the season produced two runs in the bottom of the fourth, and his 10th added another run in the sixth. Miguel Cabrera, Dan Uggla and Hanley Ramirez hit solo homers.

Uggla had two RBI and Ross totaled three hits as the Marlins won twice in the three-game series.

The winner was Justin Miller (5-0).

Kevin Gregg recorded his 28th save.

Philadelphia got a hit and two RBI from Jayson Werth, while four others each drove in one run. Starting pitcher Adam Eaton hit a solo homer in the fourth.

Aaron Rowand had two runs and three hits, while Tadahito Iguchi and Ryan Howard had two hits each for the Phillies, who trail the New York Mets by four games in the NL East.

The losing pitcher was Kane Davis (0-1).
