Houston’s Lance Berkman had two hits, one an RBI double in the first.

Pence scored three times, and Craig Biggio also had two hits for the Astros, who led, 6-0, before Chicago scored.

Winner Wandy Rodriguez (8-12) gave up four hits in six scoreless innings with three walks and five strikeouts.

Chicago's run came on Daryle Ward's eighth inning single.

Aramis Ramirez had a run and three hits for the Cubs, who have split their last four games.

Loser Sean Marshall (7-7) yielded four runs -- one earned -- and five hits in 3 2/3 innings.

The unearned runs were courtesy of Ramirez' fielding error in the fourth.
