MLB: Pittsburgh 3, Cincinnati 2 (2nd game)

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Adam LaRoche's RBI single in the eighth led the Pittsburgh Pirates to a doubleheader sweep of Cincinnati with a 3-2 win in Game 2.

Pittsburgh won the first game 6-4.

Jose Castillo and Matt Kata each drove in a run for the Pirates, who have won six of their last seven games.

Pittsburgh's Paul Maholm gave up two runs on 10 hits in seven innings. Shawn Chacon (5-4) got the win for getting the final out of the eighth inning.

Norris Hopper went 4-for-4 with an RBI triple and Edwin Encarnacion had two hits and a run scored for the Reds.

Cincinnati's Bronson Arroyo gave up just one run on six hits with six strikeouts in six innings. Bill Bray (3-1) took the loss after giving up a run on two hits while recording just two outs.
