SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Barry Zito limited Colorado to one run and Rich Aurilia's RBI single triggered a three-run eighth as the San Francisco Giants downed the Rockies 4-1 Monday.
Zito held the Rockies to four hits and one walk while striking out seven in seven innings of work.
Ryan Klesko finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run, and Randy Winn also collected two hits for the Giants, who have won five straight and 10 of 12.
Brian Wilson (1-0) pitched a scoreless inning of relief.
Josh Fogg was the hard-luck loser, holding the Giants to one run over six innings. He gave up three hits and four walks while striking out one. Jorge Julio (0-5) gave up five hits and three runs in one-third of an inning.
Brad Hawpe's homer produced the only run for the Rockies, who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.
