PITTSBURGH, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Freddy Sanchez' grand slam homer and five RBI Tuesday powered the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 6-4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds in Game 1 of a doubleheader.
Jason Bay hit a solo home run for the Pirates' other run.

Tom Gorzelanny (13-7) got the win as he gave up four runs on eight hits in six-plus innings for Pittsburgh, which has won five of its last six games.
Jorge Cantu hit a solo homer for Cincinnati.
Elizardo Ramirez (0-2) yielded six runs on nine hits with three walks and five strikeouts in five innings for the Reds, who had a six-game winning streak end.
