MLB: Boston 11, Chi. White Sox 1

CHICAGO, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- David Ortiz and Bobby Kielty hit two-run homers Sunday afternoon as the Boston Red Sox beat the Chicago White Sox, 11-1, to complete a four-game sweep.

Boston’s J.D. Drew hit a solo homer in the second. Dustin Pedroia also had two RBI with his fifth inning single, while Kielty had two hits for the AL East-leading White Sox, who have won four in a row.

Winner Julian Tavarez (7-9) surrendered an earned run and just two hits in six innings, with three walks and seven strikeouts.

Chicago got its only run on Jermaine Dye’s 25th homer of the season in the bottom of the second. Josh Fields and Danny Richar also had one hit for the White Sox, who were outscored, 46-7, in the series and suffered their fifth straight loss.

Loser Javier Vazquez (11-7) gave up seven earned runs and six hits in six innings, with three walks and 10 strikeouts.
