DENVER, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- D'Angelo Jimenez's error on Kaz Matsui's ninth-inning grounder allowed the winning run to score Friday night, as the Colorado Rockies beat Washington, 6-5.

Colorado rallied from a 6-1 deficit in the ninth, making a winner out of Brian Fuentes (1-5).

Fuentes pitched a scoreless top of the ninth, striking out one.

Loser Chad Cordero (2-3) did not retire any of the batters he faced in the ninth, giving up five runs on four hits. Cordero gave up a single, a home run, an infield single, a double and a walk.

Jon Rauch replaced Cordero and gave up a two-run single to Yorvit Torrealba that tied the game.

After a sacrifice bunt by Cory Sullivan put runners on second and third, Matsui hit the grounder that resulted in the error by Jimenez, allowing Brad Hawpe to score the winning run from third.
