NFL: New Orleans 30, Kansas City 7

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Drew Brees threw for 182 yards in just under a half of action Thursday night, leading the New Orleans Saints to a 30-7 exhibition victory over Kansas City.

Brees completed 17 of 19 passes, guided the Saints on three scoring drives against the Chiefs' first-team defense, and finished the night with a quarterback rating of 124.1.

Kansas City could not score until late in the game. Quarterback Brodie Croyle completed just five of 17 passes for 45 yards and was intercepted once.

David Patten had eight catches for 75 yards and a touchdown while Lance Moore chipped in six catches for 88. Reggie Bush led the Saints on the ground with 51 yards on six carries.
