MLB: Seattle 7, Chicago 5

SEATTLE, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Jeff Weaver limited the White Sox to five hits over 7 2/3 innings Saturday night, as the Seattle Mariners beat Chicago, 7-5.

Weaver (5-10) won his third straight start, giving up four runs with five strikeouts and just one walk.

J.J. Putz picked up his 36th save.

Kenji Johjima drove in the tiebreaking run during a four-run Seattle sixth, and Jose Vidro had two hits, one RBI and one run for the Mariners -- who won for the fifth time in their last seven games.

Adrian Beltre, Jose Lopez and Yuniesky Betancourt each had two hits.

Jim Thome homered twice for the White Sox, who have lost a season-high seven straight games. A.J. Pierzynski homered and Darin Erstad had two hits.

John Danks (6-11) surrendered four runs on nine hits in five-plus innings, with one walk and two strikeouts.
