PITTSBURGH, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Matt Kata hit a three-run double Sunday afternoon as part of a seven-run seventh inning as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat Philadelphia, 8-4.
The outburst erased a 4-0 deficit.
Xavier Nady capped the inning with his second hit, a two-run single. Three others had an RBI, and four had two hits for the Pirates, who won the last two games in the three-game series.
It was Pittsburgh’s third win in its last four games.
Winner Ian Snell (8-10) gave up four earned runs and eight hits in seven innings, with three walks and 10 strikeouts.
Philadelphia got a solo home run by Jimmy Rollins in the first, and a three-run blast by Russell Branyan in the sixth. Greg Dobbs and Tadahito Iguchi both had two hits for the Phillies, who have split their last four games.
The loser was reliever J.C. Romero (0-1), after his first blown save this season.
