MLB: Washington 7, Arizona 6

PHOENIX, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Felipe Lopez knocked in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth Sunday afternoon as the Washington Nationals rallied past Arizona, 7-6.

The RBI came after a game-tying solo homer by Jesus Flores, and finished a rally from a 5-0 deficit through three innings. Washington got a two-run homer from Ryan Church in the eighth.

Ryan Zimmerman and Austin Kearns both had one RBI, Flores had three hits and Church had two for the Nationals, who averted a three-game sweep.

The winner was Jon Rauch (8-2).

Chad Cordero recorded his 26th save.

Arizona's Mark Reynolds had three hits, including a two-run homer in the third, and three RBI.

Three players had one RBI, while Eric Byrnes and Conor Jackson had two hits each for the NL West-leading Diamondbacks, who had won 17 of their previous 20 games.

The losing pitcher was closer Jose Valverde (1-4).
