MLB: St. Louis 12, LA Dodgers 2

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Ryan Ludwick had two hits and four RBI Sunday afternoon as the St. Louis Cardinals trounced the Los Angeles Dodgers, 12-2.

Ludwick hit his 10th home run this season, a three-run blast in the top of the first, and an RBI single in the third. St. Louis’ Brendan Ryan had two hits, including a two-run homer in the fifth.

Aaron Miles had four hits and two RBI, David Eckstein had three hits and one RBI and Gary Bennett added two hits and one RBI for the Cardinals, who have won four of their last five games.

Winning pitcher Anthony Reyes (2-11) allowed two earned runs and seven hits in six innings, and three relievers all pitched one scoreless inning.

Los Angeles got one RBI each from Andre Ethier and Ramon Martinez. Ethier was one of three players with two hits for the Dodgers, who lost for the eighth time in their last 10 games.

The loser was Mark Hendrickson (4-7).
