MLB: Colorado 6, Chi. Cubs 3

DENVER, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Troy Tulowitzki snapped a 3-3 a tie with a two-run double in the sixth inning Sunday afternoon, as the Colorado Rockies beat the Chicago Cubs, 6-3.

Tulowitzki added a solo homer in the fifth for three RBI in all. Matt Holliday, Clint Barmes and starter Tim Harikkala all had one RBI, and Holliday also had two hits for the Rockies, who salvaged a four-game series split.

The winning pitcher was Matt Herges (1-0). He retired all eight batters he faced in 2 2/3 innings.

Manny Corpas earned his ninth save this season.

Chicago got one RBI each from Ryan Theriot, Jason Kendall and Felix Pie. Mark DeRosa and Mike Fontenot had two hits apiece for the Cubs, who lost after their 20th game in 20 days.

They have dropped five of their last seven games in all.

The losing pitcher was Kerry Wood (0-1).
